Love Bites Cafe - Kitchen Nightmares Update - Already Closed

On this week's episode of Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay is in Saugerties, New York to help out the restaurant Love Bites Cafe.  Love Bites is a small restaurant owned by engaged couple Chris and Tess.  They are apparently having trouble separating their personal and work lives and Gordon Ramsay is there to help save their restaurant and their relationship.

Kitchen Nightmares visited Love Bites Cafe in June 2023 to film the episode, and I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Love Bites Cafe to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Gordon Ramsay visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Kitchen Nightmares):

This update will be a bit different as the restaurant closed just a month after the Gordon Ramsay visit.  On July 9th, the restaurant posted on their Facebook page, "This has been a hard post to think about, type and even post. Let us start off like we always do by saying you guys are the best and we love you! Our customers are friends and some have become like family.  We wouldn’t trade these last 6 years of serving you for anything! But the time has come and We are on to our next adventure, But know we are leaving you in very good hands! We will miss you all and even though Chris and I will no longer be apart of the business at 69 partition street our recipes and imprint will live through the new cafe! We will be transitioning ownership in the near future. Thank you all for an amazing 6 years!!!"

They sold the restaurant to business owners operating a hot dog business across the street and the new restaurant is called The Town Cafe.  A local article says the new restaurant didn't keep any or Gordon Ramsay's changes and the previous owners from the show sold due to health reasons.  Apparently the deal to sell the restaurant was already in place before the show did the makeover, but they agreed to hold off until after the show filmed.

Conclusion:

Love Bites Cafe closed before their Kitchen Nightmares episode aired and just one month after the makeover.  It appears the restaurant already had a deal in place to be sold before the Kitchen Nightmares makeover but still decided to go through with the show.  Love Bites Cafe closed due to health issues with the owners and this seems valid as they had a lot of positive reviews online.  The new restaurant at the location is not using anything from Kitchen Nightmares as they have their own concept.
