In The Drink - Kitchen Nightmares Update

On this week's episode of Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay is in Wayne, New Jersey to help out the restaurant In The Drink Bar and Restaurant.  In The Drink is located on a golf course and Gordon Ramsay finds that the food is not very good.  The owner is an absentee owner and the restaurant is supposedly in debt $250,000.

Kitchen Nightmares visited In The Drink in May 2023 to film the episode, and I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about In The Drink to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Gordon Ramsay visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Kitchen Nightmares):




Positive Reviews:

• "Service and food are definitely lacking.. smoked salmon salad was awful."
• "The food wasn't good. The waitresses werent really understanding of gluten free or anything else."
• "Service was absolutely terrible, couldn’t get a hold of anyone for anything. If you have 3 hours to kill then this is the place for you because you’ll be waiting all day for anything, on top of snooty waiters. Definitely won’t be back."

• The makeover for In The Drink happened in late May/early June 2023 and all of the episodes this season will be in New York and New Jersey.
• Here is the In The Drink website and Facebook page.  The website isn't up to date, so Facebook is probably better for updates.  They are advertising their upcoming appearance on the show.
• They have a lot of different bands for live entertainment at In the Drink.  Most of the advertisements on their Facebook page are for the upcoming bands that will be performing. 
• In the Drink is located at Preakness Golf Course. The cost to golf there ranges from $15 to $80 for 18 holes depending on the time of day and if you walk or get a cart. (Link)

Conclusion:

The reviews for In The Drink Bar and Restaurant since the Kitchen Nightmares makeover are mostly positive.  People seem to like the atmosphere, drinks, staff and live entertainment while there were some complaints about food and service.  In The Drink seems to be a place to go for drinks/entertainment and to sit outside so perhaps the bar portion is more important than the restaurant.  With the location of In The Drink being on a golf course, it probably also helps when the golf course is busy.
